Literature Text

could there be no one like me
must I seek the other
is that what I'm going to be
should I never find another

distant though your line may be
our hearts in reflection yield symmetry
for no convention can force apart
a singular heritage with an ancient start

if my path should reach you
a cherished meeting under skies of blue
let this dream of the world last forever
to forge the final bond none shall sever
Wilderness Reunion poem (C) foxstory 2012

I wrote this in December 2011 but have delayed uploading it. It means a lot to me, and I think it belongs rightfully in the teen romantic free verse poetry category. To say that hearts in reflection yield symmetry is my way of stating the existence of true love in mathematical language. And the title, Wilderness Reunion, is meant to sound improbable. I mean, with the engines of civilization to be found just about everywhere, the call of the wild is profoundly difficult to hear. What does it mean to recognize a call to which one cannot reply in kind except through heartfelt sentiment? I do not consider myself alone in this world, and I hope this poem gives you a glimpse of how I consider my life. Thank you for reading and I hope to read your comment.

the overall flow and development of the poem from 1-3 stanza is clear. i like the 2d and 3d. 3d is the best written. i think there is a integrity to words that flow out of a poet's mind that is then polished and arranged like pearls on a string. as long as there is artistic integrity it will make sense to the reader and strike a chord, be open to interpretation. sometimes subjectivity makes one super critical.
